I Remember Lily Sky

I remember Lily Sky,

On a day I had to cry,

Walked away from a home,

On that day all alone.

In a broken down place,

Where your dreams have no space,

I found where to lie,

But there dreams had to die.

And it wasn’t okay, no it wasn’t okay,

To torment her, torment her, torment her that way.

Sitting in static,

And the ghosts in the attic,

The endless chatter,

Of nothing that mattered..

Then I listened and I heard,

All the voices, and their words.

They tore her and rattled,

Shook and then shattered.

The floor then had creaked,

And I managed to speak…

And I walked away, far away from that home,

On that day, on that day, on that day all alone.

From a place with no life,

With the windows shut tight,

And I wandered around,

With my feet on the ground,

And a tear in my eye for the next place to lie.

And thats when I stumbled upon Lily Sky.

Her face lit up bright,

Gave a room for the night,

And she told me her stories,

In all of their glories,

Of weaving, entwining,

And knotting and winding,

In a beautiful place,

Where your dreams have much space,

Its where Lily Sky, Lily Sky.

Came to life.

It was really okay

To let her go on this way

No sitting in static,

Or ghosts in the attic.

Where all of this chatter, this chatter,

Did matter.

But finally at last she asked of my day,

I fumbled and faltered and said “It’s… okay”

With a shaky breath in,

My story begins,

Of the broken down place,

Where your dreams have no space,

Of sitting in static,

With ghosts in the attic,

And the continual chatter,

Of nothing that mattered,

Then I walked away from a home,

On that day on that day on that day all alone….

But its all okay,

Because on that day,

I remember those eyes of that Lily Sky,

When I rambled around for a new place to lie.

Her smile, her stories,

In all of their glories.

Where dreams come to life,

For dear Lily Sky.

And so I remember that dear Lily Sky

On a day, on a day, on a day that I cried,

When I walked far away all alone from that home,

On that day, on that day, on that day all alone.
